El filme, una comedia oscura que sigue a un exrevolucionario interpretado por Leonardo DiCaprio, suma además nominaciones para su elenco principal, incluido el propio DiCaprio y las actuaciones de Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn y Chase Infiniti, lo que la posiciona como una fuerte contendiente también de cara a los próximos premios Oscar.

Tras One Battle After Another se ubica el drama noruego Sentimental Value, de Joachim Trier, con ocho nominaciones, mientras que Sinners, una propuesta de terror dirigida por Ryan Coogler, acumula siete. En el campo del drama, títulos como Frankenstein de Guillermo del Toro y Hamnet, centrada en la familia de Shakespeare, completan el grupo de producciones más destacadas del año. 

En televisión, la serie The White Lotus encabeza la lista con seis nominaciones, seguida por Adolescence, Only Murders in the Building y Severance, que confirman el peso de las plataformas de streaming en la oferta actual de ficción seriada. 

Las nominaciones llegan en un contexto de cambios profundos en la industria, marcado por la consolidación de servicios de streaming y grandes acuerdos corporativos. Netflix y Warner Bros. figuran entre los estudios con mayor número de candidaturas, impulsados justamente por títulos como One Battle After Another y Sinners.

Más de 300 periodistas de entretenimiento de distintos países votarán por los ganadores, que se darán a conocer el 11 de enero de 2026 en una ceremonia que se celebrará en Beverly Hills, con transmisión internacional para televisión abierta y plataformas digitales. La conducción estará nuevamente a cargo de la comediante Nikki Glaser.
